Happy Valentine's Day to Me!

My Valentine's weekend was so much fun! I was so lucky to have two of my favorite people come to visit! My brother Eldon and good Friend Jasmyn and her husband came to play this weekend.

It has been FOREVER since I have been able to spend time Jazzy and can I just tell you it was so nice! We played Friday night while her hubby and his brothers went snowboarding. We went out to dinner and then just sat in my room and talked. I was motivated to clean my room while we talked and it was awesome! I am so glad Jasmyn didn't mind sitting in my room while I cleaned it. I didn't realize how much I missed her and her sister Amber till this weekend.

Anyway, then Saturday morning we ran a few errands and then went snow shoeing. I have never been snow shoeing and it was way fun!

Before our snow shoeing expedition we were talking to Jasmyn's mother on the phone and she said "Jasmyn has always been good at talking people into doing crazy adventures." But it has never been hard to talk me into a good time. I was always up for preforming a new ballet or climbing out my second story bedroom window like Anne of green gables.

Any way, the snow shoeing was a lot of fun. We went our with a naturalist tour guide and she would stop at all the animal tracks and told us this huge story about what animal it was from and what the animal was doing. Or there was this one point she stopped and started making this bird noise and all these birds came flying down. It was so cool. It made me want to be a naturalist. Don't worry. that desire only lasted about 10 minutes. Here is a picture of the fun scenery.

After our snow shoeing adventure I wasn't feeling well and I went to bed as my little brother who came to visit me went on a date. Sunday however my brother came to church with me and it was SO much fun to have him around! Boy do I love that kid. He is such a good brother and is so good to me. He knew I was sick and so he carried my purse and coat, got up in the middle of sacrament meeting to get me more tissues (I was going through them like no body's business) and made sure I felt like I wasn't going to fall on the Ice as we walked home. Then he and Tressa made dinner. Oh what a lucky girl I am. Here are pictures of me before church when I still looked healthy.

I am one lucky girl

First, I want to say thank you to all who showed so much concern from my venting blog. I am doing well and am very happy. Every once in a while I just have those days where I need to vent. But life is so good right now and let me just tell you why....

I have been so blessed in my life and one of the best blessings I have received is named Sarah Jimmy!

She is my little african princess friend and is so dang sweet to me. This weekend I have not been feeling well and I am so glad to have her because she has taken such good care or me. Last night she let me lay on her lap and be miserable

And this morning she got up and made me take my Mc Nasty medicine to make me feel better and and made me hot cocoa.

Sarah is one of those people you love being around because she always makes you feel good about your self and is hilarious! Oh and she thinks I am pretty dang funny too. I love that she laughs at every thing I say. I am one lucky girl to have a Sarah Jimmy. Don't be jealous!

Bridal Showers Galore

February 7th was a busy day for me! Let me first tell you about my bestest friend. She is amazing and something that comes along with that amazingness is the fact that she has a ridiculous amount of people she knows and loves and who love her. Well she is getting married in April and I as the best friend threw her her bridal showers yesterday. Yep that was plural. She had so many people she wanted to invite that we spilt them up into two showers one right after another. I figured that way she could have all of the people she wanted there and still use the same food and decorations. It actually worked really well. But I will NEVER do that again. Whew it was a lot of work and I could not have done it without my amazing sisters, friends, and brother in law. Not only was I throwing two bridal showers but I did it in Orem Utah. So I arrived in Salt lake at about 9 pm Friday night and had to get right to work on games and food. Luckily my brother in law is awesome with my apple computer and took care of the video for a party game while I went shopping and bought a ridiculous amount of food. Liz and I were up until 2 am cooking. Then we were in Provo by 9 am the next morning to start setting up for shower number 1. Tressa, Sarah, and Liz were amazing and we divided and conquered. I unfortunately didn't get any pictures of the decorations or the AMAZING food, but I did get a lot of the people. Enjoy! I could add so many more but I am done searching through my photos. We had so much fun and so many laughs!!

Here's to venting!

Well lately far to often I have found myself wondering, "what in the world is wrong with me?!" And by that I mean I get way to emotional about something so stupid or I can't distract my mind from something so unimportant long enough to read a simple paragraph. Now before I go any further I am going to warn you this is a post for venting. Any way, usually I only have the "what is wrong with me" thought once a month, i have a good cry about it and then I am up and running in no time.

Well it seems like that once a month has grown up into a fully matured month. And really it is the same thing that is taking up permanent residence in my thoughts and refuses to leave. It's starting to tick me off and I am not quite sure what to do about it. My poor sweet angel little sister has been a saint as night after night I babble and complain about my need to find a new tenant. Oh and my best friend stays up as I talk about it. She has even done everything thing she can think of to distract me. Not even the thing that used to be a sure fire way to improve my mood has worked. She has single handily lined up 6 dates for me! (no technically it's been 7) Now usually a new guy is a sure fire way to distract me from my present cares but it looks like it is time for Cat to find some new techniques. Which brings me back to my first question. What in the world is wrong with me?

Don't get me wrong, I am very happy. Life is so dang good right now. I don't walk around campus mopey at all. In fact I often get funny looks because almost every day on my way to classes I laugh out loud at the thoughts running through my head. But it is that every once in a while something will remind me or Cat will mention another date she has for me and I will anxious and some times even a little down.

Today was not the greatest. I have a few theories...I'm thinking it's due to the lack of sleep I have been getting, or the ridiculous snow that has been falling ALL day, or is there such a thing as post PMS? Who knows? But I could not wait to get out of my class just because I was on the verge of tears. It was my turn to bring the treats to my night class and I thought my teacher didn't appreciate his Birthday cupcake. I mean really?

Well I told myself I needed to get more sleep and fully intended to go right to bed at 7:45 once I got out of class. HA Now it is 11:11 pm but I do feel a little better. I still am wondering what i need to do to not feel like I am going crazy and stop thinking about the same exact thing every day. I keep thinking there must be something I can do but everything I come up with doesn't seem like the best Idea. HA don't you hate it when that happens?

Happy Birthday Eldon

Wow, so much to catch up and I don't even know where to start. I guess I'll keep up with the family and give a hearty happy birthday to my brother. He's pretty much the best brother I've ever had. As Tressa said we had a little birthday party of our own for my brother. Here are some pictures and videos for you...

BYU-Idaho.....It's good to be home

Well I have about an hour between my class and work so I thought I would write a quick post. Can I just say it feels SO GOOD to be back. I feel like I came home when we pulled in a few weeks ago. I love the campus at BYU-Idaho. Honestly I don't think there is anywhere else I would rather be. Working in the admissions office I am so blessed. I get the privilege to get an inside view of how things work at school. It is so comforting to know that every time we go into an admissions committee we begin with a prayer so we will know how to best serve our heavenly father's children.

I think that President Bednar coined a term that President Clark has kept going. They say that BYU-Idaho is a disciple training Center. I love that because I can say it is so true. Where else can you go to class and feel the spirit and receive revelation on things you've been praying about in Anatomy and physiology or Intro to social work? It is not an uncommon site to see some one chilling in the hallway of a building reading their scriptures and having a Gospel discussion. I have never been to BYU-Provo but I can say if you come to Idaho the cold winters and weird schedules are SO worth it.

Can I also just say how much I love the Rexburg temple? Last year after it was dedicated I was able to go once a week. SO nice! I missed spending my time in the temple SO much this fall when I was in MD. I really wanted to come back so I could go in between classes. It is such a good place to go and spend your time counseling with the lord.

Side note: I am in the library using a student computer and this girl started talking to a guy at the computer next to me. I turned and thought "hey, he is pretty good looking." I was totally planning on turning on the charm until the girl asked him to remind her of his name.

"Brady," he said and I said to myself "Nope!" and turned around. HA what is it with me being attracted to every man named Brad, Brady, or Bradley. OHY, my life. That should give you a laugh mom. LOL

New Years Day

Oh so many things to catch up on. I am really just going to post pictures cuz I don't have very many fun and exciting stories to tell. New years day Grandpa got us all it the car and we drove down to provo to visit our amazing aunt, uncle, and cousins. We love these people! Even though we love them I don't have any pictures to put up of them. I guess I was to busy enjoying my visit to think about taking a break for a photo shoot. I did however, snap some shots of us in the car. Eldon was at an awkward angle so he didn't make the cut. Sorry my boy.

After our visit grandpa wanted to drive Sarah around the Provo campus. He kept telling her that if he did she would want to transfer to provo. I had faith however that she knows and loves the spirit of ricks and would never turn to the dark side or Y mountian. I was right. She was however very impressed with the provo temple so we stopped for her to get a picture.

Later we visited with my aunt and uncle and their family on my dad's side. Once again no pictures but we had a good time. My uncle got a kick out of playing the part in his daughter's wedding video where Liz is giving advice and breaks out the H word. HA Whoa baby Liz! HA He would play it over and over again just laughing and pointing out the same thing every
time. Like "oh look at liz's face while your dad is giving his advice." Then during Liz's advice "Oh! OH! Look at your dad's face!" THen a huge BWAHAHAHA! LOL I love this man I call my uncle. He really is my favorite on in the whole bunch. I could hang out with him all day.
