Snow nice to see you

Well Sunday Morning the weather wasn't to bad but by noon when I was ready to leave for church it looked like this out side.
(it was a lot lighter at noon)

This was the first big snow of the season. I loved it!!! It was sooo beautiful. I decided to go for a walk and just enjoy. My friend and I set out on our adventure and took some pictures. I loved being out there. It was so beautiful and peaceful. But don't you worry, this desert grown girl was not cold at all. If there's one thing my mother taught me it is LAYERS! I wore 3 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, sweat shirt's, coats, etc! Enjoy the fun pictures of the temple. I sure do love that place.

Where have you been?

Okay so it has been way way to long. But let me just say, I have a good excuse. And that is the fact that I pretty much have no free time in my life. For those who do not know (and most people reading this do) I am working two jobs, one in the Admissions office and one at a restaurant called wingers. I am loving it! However i am also taking 14 credits, am the music chairman in my ward, and have five 18 year olds to take care of. By the end of the day I am beat! Seriously since the beginning of the semester I have been struggling with getting up at 6 am and staying up till 12 am or later. I was having a melt down like twice a week. (no Joke) And then I made a fantastic discovery. One night I was sick of it all and just went to bed at 9:30 and the next day I felt FANTASTIC!!!! I had forgotten what it felt to be rested. So now I have decided that is the secret to success! Bedtime!!

Speaking of bedtime, I need to get to bed now! I love you! Boy do I miss all my friends and family!

Here are some pictures from a night that I just went out and had fun at guitar's unplugged. They are me and two of my cute little roommates and my homies Donald, John, and Chris. They were playing that night!! So much fun!!!

If I had an extra $500.....

If I had an extra 500 dollars there are MANY things I would buy. I would buy 200 pairs of payless shoes, a plane ticket to Maryland, heck I'd buy a ticket to as far as $500 would get me, I'd go on a shopping spree at my cousin's express store down in Utah, or just fix up my car.

Can I just tell you that college is EXPENSIVE! Yeah I know that you're thinking "Good work Sherlock!" But every single semester it hits me. I took a trip to the book store the other day to buy my textbooks and have first pick at the used books (they're cheaper!). I walked to my car with 5 books that I will hardly read and my wallet 500 big ones lighter.
When I shell out that kind of cash I usually expect to get something big! I mean like a wall painting, a computer, 42' TV, or even a washing machine for goodness sakes! Not a tiny little pile of dead tree's.I was trying to think of things I can use this new investment for......You know, something useful! This is what I thought of. I can use them to set my hot pans on in the kitchen, I can prop my computer on them when I'm doing my late night face booking, or just use them when I want to convey the "smart chick" image.

I look pretty smart right? But really I have so many more important things to read during my college career.
I mean this is so much more interesting and at a MUCH better price. If I had an extra $500 to blow you can bet I would not spend it on books!

Thanks Dad!

Today I was getting ready for work and found a package sitting on my bed. It was from my dad and I was SO excited to see what it could be. I opened it up and this is what I found inside.
When I first saw the white material I was so so confused as to what it might be. It kind of looked like curtains but the note didn't make sense. Here's what it said:

"Dear Deborah,
I saw this at the Bizzar and thought it would be perfect for you. Like an American Express Card, I don't want you to leave home without it.
Love,
Dad"
Obviously it wasn't curtains so I thought maybe it was a temple dress, which is strange for my dad to send me because I don't need one right now.
However, when I opened the plastic wrapping and pulled it out this is what I found:

Ha! Ha! Very Funny Daddy! (Actually I LOVE it!) It is pretty funny. However, even though it covers me up pretty well, it doesn't stop me from looking good! I can work it even in a Burka!

Private once again

Well... My blog is now private once again. I am sitting here wanting to explain but really not knowing where to start. I guess I am thoroughly freaked out. I do not consider myself anything special really. I feel like I am an average girl on pretty much every scale. So why I often attract very... um... well, unaverage males is beyond me. Here's the story.

Last week I decided that I was going to make some new friends so I could play with a ton of people during this seven week break. So naturally I started at the guys apartments and invited them all over to a game night at my house later that week. I missed one apartment which happened to be my FHE Brothers so I figured I'd let them know the next day at FHE. I didn't get around to inviting any other girls, but that's besides the point. The next day at FHE I walked in and I knew I was in trouble. I had a new admirer that was one of those out of the ordinary guys. He creeped me out a little bit then with his constant stares in my direction and his name dropping and obvious attempts to impress but it wasn't anything I hadn't come in contact with before. He showed up to my game night with one of his roommates and I decided to not completely ignore him and try hard to be nice to him and not creeped out. It turned out okay. We all had fun playing games and I knew he still was interested but didn't think anything else of it. That is until last night.

He wrote something on my wall on face book and I decided to looked at his wall to check out who this kid was. As I looked at his status updates for the last 4 days I felt like I was in a horror movie and was the girl who just stumbled on to something that showed the other character to be crazy. You know with the screeching music in the background. HA I don't quite know how to explain it. All of his status updates were about me and how wonderful I was. I mean I had only talked to this kid like twice in my life by this point. He asked me out to go on a walk and I dodged the invitation.

Later that night he started talking to me on facebook and he popped the question. He asked if I wanted to talk some time. I decided to stop him in his tracks right there. This is what I said:

Deborah:
Well I am not exactly sure know what you mean by that but I think I have a good Idea. I have had fun playing games with you on Monday and Thursday night and I am very flattered by your obvious interest in me. The things you have said about me are very kind. But I do not want to lead you on in any way.
I really think it is best if we stay friends and have fun at FHE together
23:49

Pretty good yeah? I was proud of myself for the tact that I often lack in these situations. Well that is when everything went to pieces. He mentioned that he had figured I wouldn't be interested in me after he looked at all the research he had done on me. This is what he said: (lets just call him detector gadget)

Detector Gadget:
anyways - yeah - I took all the measures in defense - gave myself the "speech", heck I did a lot of "research" and found that I'd even have less of a chance than I thought after looking over a few things
00:02

Deborah
what did you look at?
00:03

Detector Gadget:
Columbia, MD has a mean income of about $95,000 per capita; you have a convertible, are friends with nearly 500 people, many of whom are guys that are much better looking than I am. Interested in only "friendship and random play" but yet you're not much younger than me, among a plethora of other things
may I also note - my father is retired Military Intelligence - its in my nature to research EVERYTHING
00:04

Deborah
what other things? I am interested
00:05

Detector Gadget:
your house is on a hill, your high school isn't bad, the amount of stuff in your blog pics suggests you're fairly well-off; plus you're gorgeous, and carry yourself well and your pics suggest that you've been to a lot of weddings too. You seem to be very much a extrovert and don't seem to want to be tied down to one person just yet.
yes - I was thorough - you can say it
00:06

Deborah
how do you know what HS I went to and that my house is on a hill?
00:06

Detector Gadget:
satellite photos - plus your high school is in your profile
00:07

Deborah
LOL oh ok
00:07

Detector Gadget:
I PROMISE its not a stalker thing - I'm not like THAT
00:07

Deborah
HA okay cuz that's not what it sounds like.
LOL but can I correct your errors?
00:07

And that just gives you a little taste of this kid. I was trying really hard while chatting with him to not show how utterly freaked out I was. I mean yes, I will admitt it I have face booked stalked a few in my time but nothing like this. More like: let me see what kind of movies this kid likes and if he is dating anyone. You also have to realize that this kid got all this information about me on his own. We never really had any "get to know you" chats during the two times I had ever interacted with him! WHO FINDS A GIRL'S HOME ADDRESS AND THEN LOOKS IT UP ON GOOGLE EARTH? Or looks up the average income in her city. ohy!

So there you have it. And after I took a look at his blog and read the 3 posts dedicated to me I decided I was going private again. Here is the comment that really pushed me to closing the doors of my blog,
"Past that, there wasn't much else to go on. I pretty much spent the rest of the day crushing on the one girl that I've mentioned previously - though she's gorgeous, bubbly, spiritual, smart, and I found out today - apparently pretty well-off too. I'm praying for a shot with her, I really am! That shot could come tomorrow - we'll see! (Maybe I'll post a link to her blog here soon, just so I can demonstrate what I'm up against!)"

I'm not really the biggest fan of hm and his friends checking up on my blog, so it has come to this...

I do want to set the record straight that I am not well off. LOL he decided that after he google earthed my house and got the strange idea it was on a hill. But I will be honest and say he does have a great sense of character. One of his face book statuses says and I quote "
She's like perfection in its mortal form...". I mean really, who can argue with that?!

The end of the semester

Oh baby there is so much to write about. The spring semester FINALLY ended and we are done. It wasn't my best semester (in fact is was my worst) but I still passed all my classes and was just glad to not have to think about college algebra ever again! Tressa and Sarah left me and went back to MD and I am heart broken! :) The day we drove down to Utah was definitely busy. We moved all of my stuff to my new apartment and I have A LOT of stuff!
This was my kitchen stuff the night before. I hadn't even gotten to packing my room.

As you can see I was so sick of packing that night

We basically threw all my stuff in my apartment, cleaned my old house, moved my roommates to their place, moved tressa's roommate in with me and went down to Utah.
I felt bad because this is the condition I left my apartment in while my other roommates were moving in.

Tressa, Sarah, and I were all packed up with their stuff and on our way out of town when we got a phone call from Shane telling us his ride had left him in rexburg. So we turned around to squeeze him and everything he owns into my little convertible with everything else. All I want to say is that I am an amazing packer and pretty much rocked the house. We fit his 6 bags and all of tressa's stuff and all of Sarah's stuff and 4 people into my car. Consequently I had to sit in a tiny little seat like this:

(excuse the no make up and I haven't slept in 2 days look)

A good life lesson

As I was cleaning out my inbox I found this Email Liz sent to me over a year ago. I love it and think I will make it my new philosophy. Enjoy

This bridge is on the Old Donner Pass Highway.

It has a spectacular view of Donner Lake and Donner Pass on Route 80.

A bear was walking across Rainbow Bridge ( Old Hwy 40 at Donner Summit (Truckee) on Saturday when two cars also crossing the bridge scared the bear into jumping over the edge of the bridge. Somehow the bear caught the ledge and was able to pull itself to safety. Authorities decided that nothing could be done to help Saturday night so they returned Sunday morning to find the bear sound asleep on the ledge.

After securing a net under the bridge the bear was tranquilized, fell
into the net, lowered, then woke up and walked out of the net.

There is a moral to this story you know; this old bear made a wrong move and found
he was hanging by his nails.
(I don't think he made a wrong move. He just had something pretty rough happen to him)

Somehow he was able to pull himself up onto the ledge where he saw he was in a very bad, impossible situation and what did he do?
Yep, he took a nap and sure enough the situation took care of itself while he was asleep.

The moral is that when confronted with a bad situation
Sometimes the best solution is to take a nap. ..

Amen Sister!
